Initially, I met Jim, the owner, at a trade show and immediately felt drawn to the personal and genuine feel of his family-run company. After our conversation at the show, we scheduled a more detailed meeting, which turned into an engaging 1-2 hour discussion. It was during this meeting with Jim that I decided to proceed with The Oak Glasshouse Company, confident in their dedication and personal touch.
What were your reasons for the new building?
We have a swimming pool and wanted a comfortable space close by to support various outdoor activities such as drinks, dining, and changing facilities during the summer months. Initially, the idea was simply functional, something practical and basic.
Had you already decided on the type of building?
Not at all. Originally, we were looking for a basic replacement shed something straightforward and practical priced between £15k and £20k, similar to options commonly advertised in weekend supplements. Initially, we were purely focused on utility and functionality without considering anything with a particularly personal or bespoke design.
Do you have a favourite feature?
Absolutely. The oak design and the tiled roof have quickly become standout features for us, although neither were initially part of our plan or shopping list. The beauty and craftsmanship of these elements elevated the project beyond our initial expectations.
